Laurel Lambourne Moore

LAYTON a€" Laurel Moore our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009 after a courageous 3 A½ year battle with Ovarian Cancer. Laurel was born in SLC, UT on February 7, 1946, to William Wayne and Dorothy White Lamourne.

Laurel was raised in Provo, UT and graduated from Provo High School. In 1966, she moved to Phoenix, AZ and met and married Richard Moore, the love of her life. From that union, they had three wonderful sons that she loved deeply. In 1981, the family relocated to Layton, where Laurel was involved with Special Olympics, Cub Scouts and soccer.

Laurel was employed at TRW/Northrop Grumman, and retired after 22 years of service. Laurel enjoyed her work and had many wonderful caring co-workers and friends. When Laurel wasn''t traveling to Europe, Asia, or Hawaii, riding her ATV, sail-planing, golfing, skydiving, white water rafting, riding mules in Bryce Canyon, hiking to Delicate Arch, she also loved going to her property in the mountains. There she would do "simple" chores like: laying road base, cutting brush, moving rocks, painting the deck, doing beautiful cross-stitches, crocheting, reading a good book, or having the entire family up for a campout and BBQ. Through her humor, love, and "Can Do" attitude, she was an inspiration to all of us.

Laurel was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Harold Lambourne.

Laurel is survived by her husband Richard, three sons, Brett, Layton; Kevin (Cheraye), Clinton; Darrell (Kristina), West Jordan; four beautiful granddaughters, Jessica, Hayley, Ashlee, Alexus, and one grandson Jakob; one brother Wayne Lambourne, Pleasant Grove; and sister-in-law Cindy Lambourne, Spanish Fork.

The family would like to thank all of Laurel''s angels and her many friends for their love and support, and thanks to Dr. Carl Gray and his great staff for their care, support and professionalism.

Loved You Yesterday, Love You Still, Always Have, Always Will. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

In lieu of flowers, Laurel asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
