Laureta Droesbeke Wright

February 25, 1928 ~ July 17, 2014

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Laureta Droesbeke Wright, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014.  Laureta was born on February 25, 1928 to Firmin Peter and Loretta Mildred Butler Droesbeke in Ogden, Utah.  She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School Class of 1945.

Laureta married her sweetheart, Lynn East Wright on February 25, 1946 in Ogden.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1964.  They were married for 68 wonderful years.  Lynn and Laureta were part of a group of friends and founding members of the Quarter Promenader Square Dancers.  Mom and Dad spent many years traveling in their trailer and enjoying cruises.  They also enjoyed many years at their winter home in Yuma with dear friends.

Laureta worked for the IRS.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.  We are so blessed to have had mom to teach us such great values, work ethic, and to care for others.  She will be greatly missed.

Laureta is survived by her caring husband, Lynn, Ogden; sons, Steve (Debbie), Layton and Craig (Terry), Ogden; daughters, Sheila (Ken) Frost, Fruit Heights and Tami (John) Krebs, Pleasant View; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; brother, Kent Droesbeke; sister, Marlene (Art) Bramwell; and brother-in-law, Richard Gardner; and sisters-in-law, Linda (Raleigh) Jensen and Verla (John) Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald and sister, Janice Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, West Warren Cemetery.

We want to thank her grandson, Ryan, for his tender loving care to his grandmother and grandfather.  Thank you also to the wonderful caregivers at Legacy House and Envision Hospice.
