“Together Again”
LaVern Lloyd Buckley finished his journey here on the earth and went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 23, 2013.
Our Father, Grandpa, and Great-grandpa “Lloyd”, was born on October 30, 1927 to Vern Buckley and Mary Covert Buckley in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He lived most of his life in Ogden, Utah.
Lloyd was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. He never met a stranger. He loved camping and fishing and his favorite hobby was collecting and “playing” with trains and listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
He loved spending time with his family. They were his greatest accomplishments. He is now dancing in heaven with his eternal companion Norma.
Lloyd served in the Navy during World War II. Upon coming home, he met the love of his life, Norma Konkle. They married on February 11, 1950 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Ogden, Utah. They were married for 61 years.
He worked for Utah Power and Light Company. After retirement, they became snowbirds, spending winters in Yuma, Arizona with close friends.
Lloyd is survived by his three daughters, Connie Buckley of Ogden; Sandy (Rick) Glismann of Syracuse; and Dianna Buckley of Ogden; five grandchildren, Johnny (Paul) Glismann of St. Petersburg, Florida; Jim Glismann of Clearfield; Jeremy (Amanda) Glismann of Syracuse; Joey (Tascha) Glismann of Layton; and Jarrod (Hayley) Glismann of Hooper; five great-grandchildren, Brinlee, Tanner, Lexianna, Sophia, Perri, and one more on the way; three brothers, Ray Buckley of Ogden; Danny Buckley of Wyoming, and Wendell (Birdie) Covert of Ogden and many nieces and nephews.
