LaVerne Butters Hales
July 19, 1934 ~ August 7, 2017
LaVerne Butters Hales passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 7, 2017.
LaVerne was born on July 19, 1934 to Irvin Robert and Beulah Bertoch Butters in Morgan Utah.
She married Larry J Hales on May 7, 1952. They had two daughters and one son, Lori Pedersen (deceased), Christine Stevens Mower, and Paul Hales.
LaVerne grew up in Morgan, Utah where she played the Oboe in the band and was on the cheerleading squad at Morgan High School. She married Larry, the love of her life and was a devoted, loving, supportive wife for 70 years. They never liked to be apart and enjoyed everything they did together.
She was a caring, selfless mother and grandmother, always concerned for the happiness and well-being of her family. Taking care of others without a thought for herself was truly her nature.
LaVerne loved to go for rides with Larry each evening and they had a standing movie date weekly. She always looked forward to treats of Diet Coke and chocolate! And most of all she loved spending time with family.
She was always quick with a smile and kind word for everyone and in turn was loved by all who knew her.
LaVerne-Mom-Grandma will be greatly missed, but we all know she is truly happy and loving her reunion with Lori.
She is survived by her loving, completely devoted husband, Larry; her daughter, Chris; son, Paul; (preceded in death by her daughter, Lori); 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
