OGDEN a€" LaVerne Turner Neilson, 81, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at her home in Ogden.

She was born November 9, 1925 in Crescent, Utah, a daughter of David O. and Vina Jane Siler Turner.

LaVerne married LaMar Neilson on September 18, 1948 in Las Vegas, Nevada. LaMar preceded her in death in August of 1987.

She was a longtime resident of Ogden.

LaVerne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was Senior Vice President of Western Mortgage and United Savings Bank retiring after many years of service.

The family wishes to thank her special friend, Stanley "Woody" Goodness, for all his love and support throughout these many special years.

Surviving are her son, Jeffrey LaMar Neilson, Reno, NV; and brother, D. Earl Turner, Palm Desert, CA; and Star Valley, WY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
