The following is from mom's words:
we had a bit of a travel bug throughout our marriage and went several places. we camped a lot and while the family fished I read a book...fishin' just ain't my thing. WE TRAVELED the entire west coast making our way to British Columbia., CANADA. WE'VE BEEN TO DISNEYLAND twice and mickey looked the same both times...I just wish I did. For fun and adventure with my boys, WE TRAVELED TO OKLAHOMA, MADE A WRONG TURN, STOPPED AT A CAFE TO GET DIRECTIONS, FOUND OUT WE WERE IN NEBRASKA, "HOLY CRAP", WE HAD TO BACKTRACK ABOUT. 100 MILES (I WAS READING THE MAP UPSIDE DOWN). I WAS FORBIDDEN FROM THE MAPS. WE" DID GET TO LAWTON, OKLAHOMA TO SEE MY YOUNGEST SON GRADUATE FROM BOOT CAMP. IT WAS AN AWESOME JOURNEY.
I had the opportunity to be in 4 places at once---yep stopped at 4 corners (New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah)! I had the privilege of going to hawaii in 2011 for christmas and yes i CLIMBED diamond head...the cliche is true we are not too old to try new things...just remember to keep it slow and steady. since hawaii most of my travels are to california where i can say i have been to every tourist spot you know about such as san diego, catalina island, santa monica and went to my first dolly parton concert (I had thought I was going to a drag queen show)
Mom you can rest in peace knowing that you didn't lose us, we lost you and you will be forever missed. Love you always and forever, MOM.
