LaVon S. Jones

LaVon S. Jones HOWELL – Beverly LaVon Stephens Jones, 81, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Bear River Hospital. She was born June 5, 1927 in South Weber, a daughter of John Clinton and Gertrude Jane Roman Stephens. On January 3, 1949, LaVon married James William Jones, Jr., in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1994. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. LaVon enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, traveling, music and picnics. She assisted her husband with his photography business and was always his favorite model. Most of all, LaVon loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, James Jones, Don (Ria) Jones, Beverly Miller, Betty (Jim) Barney, Bonnie Jones, 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Marie Adams. LaVon was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her son Bob Jones, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
