LaVor H. Bowden
OGDEN- LaVor H. Bowden passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 22, 1930 in Fairview, Idaho to Kenneth and Inez Bowden and raised by his loving parents, Seymour and Gladys Hoskins.
LaVor married his teenage sweetheart Maxine Middleton on September 13, 1947 in Pocatello, Idaho.
He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 28 years of service.
LaVor enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and was a passionate master gardener. He will always be remembered for his astonishing garden and sharing his homegrown fruits and vegetables with family and friends.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
LaVor is survived by his wife Maxine, two sons and five daughters; Ray (Peggy) Bowden, Eden; Leola Fordham, Ogden; Junior (Toni) Bowden, Roy; Nola (Don) Mitchell, Syracuse; Lois (Scott) Cooper, St. George; Nora (Mike) Valdez, Ogden; and Flora (Jack) Skinner, Stansbury Park.
He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.
LaVor was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jason LaVor Bowden, granddaughter, Hether Mae Dunn, and great-grandson, Joshua Warren Angwin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
