LaVorda Syme Mifflin

LaVorda Syme Mifflin passed away on March 15, 2018. LaVorda was born May 8, 1924 to Daniel C. Syme and Minnie Lauretta Anderson in Moroni, Utah. She had four brothers: Dutch, Boyd, James and Bruce. She moved to McGill, Nevada where she grew up and went to school.

She married Jack Morgan Mifflin on May 31, 1945. They made their home in Ely, Nevada, Newark, California, and West Point, Utah.

She is the mother of three sons: John Morgan, James Robert (twins), and Roger Howell Mifflin. She was a faithful member of the LDS 9th Church and served as a visiting teacher until last month. She is very proud of her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and husband, Jack. She is survived by her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
