Lawrence Leo Damewood, Jr.

Lawrence Leo Damewood, Jr., left his earthly home to join those that had gone before him on December 11, 2024, in Bountiful, Utah, at the age of 70. He was born on August 12, 1954, in Tulsa Oklahoma, Larry's life was marked by a profound love for music, the outdoors, and learning.

 As a child, Larry enjoyed riding his bike and had a passion for music. He taught himself to play the guitar at a young age and loved playing throughout most of his life. His father instilled in him a love for the outdoors by taking him and his siblings camping and fishing. 

After graduating from high school, Larry served with honor in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in New Jersey, Kansas, and Germany. It was during his time in Kansas that he met Susan Anderson, the love of his life, they were later married and had a son Vincent. Larry and Susan later parted.

Larry and his siblings attended Baha’i classes early in life with their mom Freda. He embraced the Baha’i faith for a large part of his life. More recently he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his beloved son, Vincent Damewood, Vincent’s mom Susan Anderson Damewood and his sister, Patricia Damewood, Larry's legacy is further honored by the cherished memories he created with those who knew him well.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Leo Damewood, Sr., his birth mother, Freda Mae Parish, his second mom, Ladene Bird Damewood, and his brother, Robert Allen Damewood.

The burial will commence at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. The service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel, 2680 Cherry Lane, Layton, Utah on Friday December 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

 Larry will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
