Lawrence Gilbert Garcia

Lawrence Gilbert Garcia passed away at his home in Roy on Sunday, February 10, 2008. He was 29 years old.

He was born January 3, 1979 in Ogden, the son of Yolanda and Jerry Baxter and Vincent Ray Garcia.

Lawrence graduated from Roy High School and attended Weber State University, nearly completing his degree before an accident in June of 2003.

Lawrence was the proud father to Tayler Garcia. She was the love of his life and he enjoyed spending time with her. Tayler and her dad shared a love for Lip Smackers. He was a dedicated Chicago Bears fan, and loved to watch them play. He also loved hockey.

Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Yolanda and Jerry Baxter; his father, Vincent Ray Garcia; daughter, Tayler Garcia; brothers and sisters, Vincent Paul (Wendy) Garcia, Jimmy Garcia, Stacey (Nathan) Ames, Shealyn Baxter, Charese Flemming, Sindi Thomas, Tony (Nicole) Rice, and Shane (Kris) Vigil.

Lawrence is the grandson of Katie and Paul Kirklin. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who love him very much.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dionicio and Genoveva Garcia, Vincent C. Garcia and paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Teresa Garcia.

The family expresses thanks to Vista Hospice and Kathy from IHC.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Family will meet friends at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
