Lawrence James Harrison

Lawrence (Larry) James Harrison was born in 1928 in Malad, Idaho, to Laura Bell Wells and Parry Dredge Harrison. He passed away on July 21, 2016. He was the oldest of eight children: Parry DeLoss, Laura, Emma Belle, Eldena, Rose Ann, James (Jimmy) Wells, and Edwin (Teddy). He spent much of his life on a farm until he eventually settled in Utah where he worked for General Electric until he retired. Besides being known for being a hard worker, he enjoyed spending his free time rock hunting and creating jewelry, knives, coasters, pick axes, and hammers.

Larry was also a man of many admirable qualities. He was a wonderful husband and father, loyal friend, and great neighbor. He loved his family and earned his grandchildren’s affection by teasing them, calling the boys “Gloria” and the girls “George.” His fondness for animals is also legendary. Over the course of his lifetime he owned many pets, having particular affection for a horse named Desert and a little golden poodle named Tooko.

It is with enduring love that we say goodbye to our husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Sharla and her four children Anna (Paul) Williamson, Amy Jean Hogge, Royd (Erin) White, Bradley (Stephanie) White. He was married to Eula Fern Clark, later divorced. They had seven children: Geri (Doug) Walton, Susan Harrison, Cyd (Chris) Bonner, Beverly Jean (Earl) Pace, Julie (Kent) Godfrey, Pamela (Ron) Bourgeois. Preceded in death by his son Todd Lawrence Harrison.  He was also grandfather to 23 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 29.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 30th, at the Bountiful 17th Ward Chapel, 2150 S. 650 E. Friends may visit family Friday, July 29th from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Saturday at the Church from 9:30-10:30am prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, 1640 Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.
