Lawrence A. Hixson, 72, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Davis Hospital. He was born July 7, 1941 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Grover G. and Betty Schull Hixson. Growing up in a military family, Lawrence lived all over the world, graduating from high school in Frankfurt, Germany. He retired after 26 years from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant, working with the F-16 ejection system and survival training. He enjoyed woodworking and upholstery. Lawrence is survived by his son, Grover “Butch” Hixson, step-son, Walt (Laurel) Moyer, step-daughter, Cheryle (Shane) Shirk, six grandchildren, Brittney, Devin, Eric, Desi, Kristin, Ray, and two sisters, Jeanne Walker and Gail Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, a son, Michael Hixson, and one sister, Betty Lou Rodman. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 25th at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
