Lawrence “Larry” John Booth, 65, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 in Layton, Utah. He was born December 30, 1957 in Clinton, Iowa to Lewis Elton and Patricia Ann Vickers Booth. He lived in Clinton, IA, Orem, UT., California City, CA., and Clearfield, UT.
Larry served in the United States Air Force as a flight scheduler.
Larry was married to Carolyn Clegg on October 1, 1982, they were later divorced in 2000. He met and married Cherise Kathleen Paul on August 28, 2003 in California City, California. Larry served in the United States Air Force as a flight scheduler.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Missouri Independence Mission, Young Men’s leader, Elder Quorum President , Ward Mission Leader, Executive Secretary and as a Stake High Councilor.
Larry enjoyed camping, traveling, spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a fan of BYU football and he was an Eagle Scout.
Larry is survived by his wife Cherise Paul Booth, sons; Richard J. Booth, Matthew L. Booth, daughter, Emily A. Booth Hill, son-in-law Joseph B. Hill, granddaughter Saphrine R. Hill, grandson, Obsidian R. Hill, brothers; Ronald Booth, Roger Booth, Daniel Booth, sisters; Diane Morgan, Tina Okolowitz, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Patricia Booth, numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like thank the staff in the ICU at Holy Cross Hospital in Layton, Utah for their outstanding care and compassion during Larry’s hospitalization.
A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Clearfield South Stake Center, 2186 S. 125 W., Clearfield , Utah.
Military honors will be held at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary at a later date.
