MORGAN a€" Lawrence Dale Smith, 86, passed away Friday, January 1, 2010. He was born December 21, 1923 in Morgan, Utah to Adrian Thomas and Sarah Oles Owens Smith. Dale married Vonda "June" Olsen in April 1946. June passed away in February 1986. He married Emma L. Stuart in August 1986.

Dale served in the CCC Camps and later joined the Marine Corp. He owned and operated his own Autobody shop, "Dale Smith Auto Shop", in Clearfield.

He survived by his wife, Emma; two sons, Larry (Sue), Layton; Allan (Dottie), Clinton; two step-sons, Arnold (Linda) Smith, Morgan; Stuart (Nadine) Smith, Morgan; two daughters, Shirley (Tom) Thorpe, Layton; Daleen (Don) Tunison, No. Ogden; and three step-daughters, Margaret (Robert) Taylor, Hyrum; Annette (Brad) Peterson, Peterson, UT; and Marie (Larry) Woolsey, Roy; and a sister Jeanette Searle, Riverdale. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, June; brother, Darrell O Smith, and grandson, Jason Thorpe.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
