Lawrence “Larry” Emil Stadtfeld

Lawrence “Larry” Emil Stadtfeld, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was born on February 11, 1938 in Greybull, Wyoming, the son of Emil Michael and Theo Loraine Chamberlain Stadtfeld.  He grew up in Casper, WY, but resided in the Ogden, UT area most of his adult life.

He graduated from St. Patricks’s Academy in Sydney, Nebraska in 1957. He spoke fondly of his years there, and was even voted Prom King.

He joined the Navy in 1958. While serving, he achieved the rank of CT3, working as a Cryptololgy Technician. He was honorably discharged in 1962.

He married Colleen Ruth Lyon on July 31, 1965 in the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City. They later divorced.

In 1966, he began working at HAFB as an Electronics Technician. He enjoyed his time there, and made many lasting friendships during his 42 year tenure.

Dad was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing classical music and church hymns. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing with his sons.

He is survived by his children, Gene Stadtfeld of Roy, UT; Jim Stadtfeld of Central Point, OR; Traci (Ken) Webster of Ogden, UT; John (Angie) Stadtfeld of West Haven, UT; and Stephanie (Jorge) Galvez of Syracuse, UT.  He also has 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings, Mike (Judy) Stadtfeld of Evansville, WY; Judy (Jeff) Turner of Story, WY; Margy (Ken) Heitt of Grand Junction, CO; and Mary Parthemer of Eugene, OR and by seven beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

The family would like to thank the parish of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for their continued and loving support of our beloved father. He enjoyed serving the Lord with his many friends there.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 24th St.  Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary prayer service at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
