Le Grant Fuller Shreeve "Together Forever"

Our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Le Grant Fuller Shreeve passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 26, 2013 in Roy, Utah. Le Grant was born on April 6, 1928 in Ogden, Utah to Arnold Thomas and La Von Margaret Fuller Shreeve.

Le Grant attended Weber County Schools and graduated from Weber High School in 1946. He also attended Weber State College for two years. He served in the Eastern States Mission from 1948 to 1950.

After his mission, he went to work for Ogden City, and was there 17 years, where he became supervisor over the parks department. He also helped to start many of the parks in Ogden City and designed much of their landscaping. He and his brother started the Christmas Theme Park in Ogden by the City and County buildings and they also ran a small landscaping business together. Le Grant later became self-employed working in Mining.

Le Grant married Joyce Barnes on November 16, 1956, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Le Grant served in many capacities of the church. He served in the Stake Presidency of the Washington Terrace Stake for 10 years, he loved the members of his Stake and so many of them became his lifelong friends.

He loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening and planting. He could tell you the name of every plant. He spent much of his time studying the scriptures and reading many great books. He would always share with his family the importance of knowledge and was a great example to his children and grandchildren and a very loving father and grandfather.

He also enjoyed family history work and was so happy when he was able to submit several thousand names to the temple. He loved to tell many spiritual experiences of his parents and grandparents and many of his own life experiences to his children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His testimony and stories will forever live on in our hearts.

Le Grant is survived by his children, Joel L. Shreeve, Ogden; and Carrie (Dan) Sainsbury, Layton; sister, Ganae (Raymond) Jensen, Ogden; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Margaret Ann, and Nancy Lee, three brothers and one sister.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Heritage Park Care Center, Dr. Wood, and Cathy and Dawn from IHC Hospice.
