Leah Poll Adams
LAYTON – Leah Poll Adams, 80, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from Alzheimers disease.
Leah was born on September 22, 1929, a daughter of George H. and Myrtle Nalder Poll in South Weber, Utah, where she was raised.
She attended schools in Davis County and graduated from Davis High School. Leah was a member of the LDS church.
She met Joseph B. Adams in 1949. They were married on August 7, 1950 in Elko, Nevada. Together they owned and operated “Little Joe’s” café in Layton from 1949 to 1984. They also farmed and raised horses, cattle, and sheep. Joe passed away on December 1, 1999.
Leah is survived by her son Joel L. (Connie) Adams, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by step-daughter Sandra (Paul) Smith and step-son Steven M. (Brenda) Adams, four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are Lucille (Robert) Bodily, Erma Smith, Afton (Lyle) Jorgensen, and Ralph (Arline) Poll.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, step-great-granddaughter, Savannah Smith, sister and brother-in-law Verna and Harold Anderson, and brother-in-law William Smith.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March, 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
