Leah Williams Elison, 83, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Leah was born September 8, 1928 to Ross and Thelma Williams in Idaho Falls, ID. She spent her young childhood in Idaho Falls and Pocatello. At the age of 13 her family moved to Blackfoot, ID where she attended junior high and high school. She met her husband Rolland Elison in September of 1946 and they were married June 20, 1947 in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. They were blessed with four wonderful children: Rolland W. Elison (Lynn), Herriman, UT; Craig (Louise) Elison, West Jordan, UT; Michele Jane (Lonnie) Weston, Syracuse, UT; and Debra Sue Elison, Layton, UT.
Leah and Rolland have spent 52 years living in Layton, Utah. They lacked 20 days of living 65 years together. Leah was a very sociable and loving person. Everyone she met loved her. She worked for the B&B Department Store for 21 years and knew many people. She also worked for Mrs. Cavanagh''s Candies for ten years. She loved reading, crocheting, quilting, camping and being with family, grandchildren and friends.
She faithfully served the Lord in many positions in the LDS faith: Relief Society President, counselor in the Young Women''s'' Presidency, Stake Mia Maid leader and many other positions. Her cheerful attitude and feisty personality will be remembered by all who knew her. She always said that she didn''t have red hair for nothing.
She is survived by her husband, her four children, 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold Williams, sister Doradene Williams Buckley, and her son-in-law Kent Chard. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Park Street Chapel, 275 Park St., Layton, UT. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

We wish to thank Love Home Care/CNS for their dedicated compassionate service for six years with Leah. We especially want to thank Emily, Maria and Josh. We love them so much. They were especially good to Leah and our family. They are indeed angels of mercy. We will always be indebted to their kind wonderful service and to the others who also helped.
