Our mother, LeAnn Cheryl Maas Burnett passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, with her loving husband, Roger, by her side. Mom was born June 10, 1952, to Arnold and Leone Maas in Ogden, Utah and was the oldest of four children. Mom attended school in Washington Terrace, including graduating from Bonneville High School. She then attended Weber State University where she studied nursing.
Mom married, and was sealed forever to, the love of her life, Roger Burnett, in the Ogden Temple on March 3, 1973. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage and companionship together.
Mom was someone who always loved to be “on-the-go”. Our Dad has said that he was a “human-being”, but Mom was a “human-doing”. She enjoyed spending time with her family and planting flowers; daisies were her favorite. She was active in her neighborhood as a piano teacher, hair stylist, and served in her local LDS ward in various capacities including many years serving in both Ogden temples. Mom and Dad have five children and 15 grandchildren.
Mom is survived by her devoted husband, Roger, her brother, Vernon (Susan) Maas, sister, LaNae (Scott) Rasmussen, sister-in-law, Ruth Maas, and her children, Melodie (Michael) James, Michelle (Brian) Ricks, Ryan (Amy) Burnett, Melissa Burnett, and Phillip Burnett, and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Theron (Ruth) Maas.

Our sincere love and deep gratitude goes out to our beloved father, Roger, who selflessly spent the last 5 years taking care of our Mom, his wife, around the clock. He always showed by example how much he loved her. We also express appreciation for the many friends, neighbors, and family that have shown such great love and service to our Mom and Dad over the years.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Mom’s CNA, Sandy, who was able to establish a personal relationship with Mom while she attended to her, the amazing staff at Quality Hospice for their compassionate and tender care for Mom in her final weeks and the staff at Lindquist Mortuary for being so respectful and helping us through this process.
