LeeAnn Petersen Hardcastle

April 10, 1957 ~ May 11, 2017

LeeAnn Petersen Hardcastle, 60, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at her home, during a difficult fight with cancer.

She was born April 10, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William D. and Ardith Chipman Petersen.

LeeAnn earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Weber State University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Western Governor’s University. During her 41-year career she was employed at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and McKay-Dee Hospital. She was a nurse in every sense of the word who served with competence and compassion.

She married Kim Hardcastle on February 15, 1979 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. In their 38 years together, they raised four great children and made a happy home.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and gave a lifetime of service in her ward callings and in her neighborhoods. Her faith was evident in the way she supported others.

She enhanced her home and the homes of others with needle works, painting and other crafts. And with the feeling of welcome and love that greeted all-comers. LeeAnn enjoyed doing and seeing new things, plays, concerts and musicals and traveling around the country and world with her husband, but most of all, she enjoyed weekends under the same roof with her beloved children and thrice-beloved grandchildren.

LeeAnn is survived by her husband, Kim; four children, Gordon Hardcastle, (Jessica); Matthew Hardcastle, (Jennifer); Melanie Lafeen, (Justin); Jodi Flint, (Trevor); eight grandchildren; three brothers, Karl Petersen, Paul Petersen, Gregg Petersen, and one sister, Karen Leatham.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Roy 12th Ward Chapel, 4524 South 2525 West. The family will meet with friends Wednesday, May 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
