Leisa Jayne Carlson

Leisa Jayne Carlson, 61, a long-time Ogden resident, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2023 at Ogden Regional Medical Center of injuries she sustained from a fall.

Leisa was born October 2, 1961 in Brigham City to Richard Boyce and Sandra Sheffield Carlson. She was raised and schooled in Brigham City, graduating from Box Elder High School, Class of 1979.

Leisa married Gary Wayne Bahnmiller on December 3, 1993 and they had one daughter, Cori Anne. They later divorced in the Spring of 2011.

Leisa enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. She was good at crafts and liked to sew, make quilts and blankets and pillowcases, even clothing. Leisa was an epic “I Love Lucy” fan and adored apples and anything decorated with apples.

Leisa will be remembered most for her ability to love deeply. It was a part of her nature, and throughout all her struggles she was kindhearted and caring. She loved colorful clothing and accessories and was always a bright and colorful person.

In later years she met and fell in love with Michael A. Burkholder. Sadly, he passed away two years ago. This tragedy took its toll on Leisa, but she has now been reunited with all the people she loved so dearly who have gone before.

She was a member of the Canyon Springs Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leisa was appreciative of the assistance and care of her ward family, for their kindness and patience and devotion.

Leisa is survived by her daughter, Cori Bahnmiller, San Diego; sister, Carolyn Carlson Hollingsworth, North Ogden; her uncle, Mike (Susan) Sheffield, South Jordan; aunts, Jeanie Peck, Brigham City and Shauna Walton of Dana Pt, CA; and her nieces, Heather Thomas, Ogden; McKell (“TJ”) Gamundi, Harrisville; Shayla (Kyle) Rawson, Davison, MI. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and uncle, Bill (Susan) St. Paul, MN.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery, 300 East 300 South, Brigham City. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
