Leland R Nalder “Lee”

CLEARFIELD – Leland R Nalder “Lee”, 89, loved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 24, 2014 at home of natural causes.

He was born January 7, 1925 in Layton, Utah the fourth son of Byron Joseph and Marget Hannah Morgan Nalder.  Married to Deloris “Dee” Sleight in 1951 and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Lee was a high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. His favorite service was at the Manti Temple as an ordinance worker.

Lee served in the U.S. Marines, Prvt. 1 st Class, during WWII, with an honorable discharge.

Surviving are two sons, Lonne Lee (Mary) Nalder Oxbow, Oregon; Lewis Byron Nalder, Clearfield, Utah; daughters, Cheryl Dee (Steve) Nalder Sheffield, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Terri Lee (Bill) Nalder Pate, Smithville, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, sister Margaret Mary Nalder Nilsen, and a brother, Berny Thomas Nalder.

Preceded in death by his wife, an infant son, parents and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
