Leland LaLonde Thompson, Jr. "Jiggs"

Leland LaLonde Thompson, Jr., our loving brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away January 3, 2009 in Bountiful, Utah in the company of his loving children.

He was born November 16, 1932 the son of Leland L (Slats) Thompson and Nellie Mae Neil Thompson. Married Erna Dean Spencer 1956 in Park City, Utah, later divorced. Married Marian Hepworth in 1967 in Ketchum, ID, later divorced. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, traveling throughout Africa.

Jiggs had a full life, rich with adventure and experiences he treasured. He earned many awards as an accomplished bowler. He loved the outdoors, skiing, hunting, and fishing, never refusing an opportunity to pass on these talents to friends and family. His family will treasure these times.

He is survived by five children; Leland L. Thompson III (Sheila), Dean L. Thompson, Denise Anderson (Mark), Ellen Williamson (Vaughn), Christopher Thompson (Pamela); sister, Claudette John (Daniel); eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Patricia Offret, Janet Larsen and Nellie Mae Thompson.

Gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 5-7 pm at the Centerville Park Ward Chapel, 1125 N. 400 W. Funeral directors Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
