Lemoyne Hobbs
1923 -2011
Lemoyne Thompson Hobbs passed away August 20, 2011 in Bountiful, Utah of injuries sustained during a fall.
She was born September 26, 1923 in Clarkson, Cache, Utah the 4th child of Newel Randell and Amy Heggie Griffiths Thompson. She had seven brothers and four sisters.
Married Orval Leon Hobbs, June 25, 1942 in Logan LDS Temple. She lived in Montana for over 50 years. After Orval’s death in 1965 Lemoyne went to business school and worked for the IRS until she retired. She served a temple mission to the Washington DC Temple and return to live in Salt Lake City where she served as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple. She liked to sew, paint and work in her flower garden. She also helped at the voting polls in Salt Lake City.
She is survived by her daughter Marlene (Sherman) Peterson, Anchor Point, AK; four grandchildren Jerry Leon Longfellow, Kris Longfellow, Bonita Hobbs and Richard Longfellow all of Tacoma, WA; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by brothers Jack (Evelyn), Vernal, Collins
( Ludean), Jessie (Georgia) Thompson; sisters Lola Larsen, Jeannie Hendricks, and Kathleen (Troy) Jones.
Preceded in death by her husband, three brothers Dennis Neil Thompson, William Blaine Thompson, Norman VaLoy Thompson and sister Joan.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Riverside 1st Ward, 1140 W. 500 N. Salt Lake City, where friends may visit with family from 9:45-10:45 am prior to the services. Interment Logan City Cemetery.
