Lena Mae Miller Eastman

January 25, 1949 ~ February 14, 2019

On the evening of February 14, 2019,  Lena passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Lena was born on January 25, 1949 in Germantown, Ohio, daughter of George “Fritz” Fredrick Miller and Hattie Marie Miller. Lena spent most of her life in Weber County, UT, graduating from Ben Lomond High School.  She married Wayne B. Eastman in June of 1973.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Lena was a Certified Nursing Aide all of her adult life, working in several nursing facilities in the Ogden area. Lena absolutely loved her job working with her residents, when she became too sick to work it broke her heart.

Lena enjoyed telling long stories and cracking jokes with anyone who would listen. She was a huge animal lover, she always made sure her bird feeders were full, and kept a close watch on all of the animals who visited her home. She enjoyed crafting and puzzles, her three fur babies Mavis, Zima, and especially her 19 year old loyal companion Daisy, were her best buddies. Lena loved being a Grandma and a Great-grandma to her ever expanding brood.  She was particularly close to her Great-granddaughter Hattie and Great-grandson Payton.

Lena is survived by her husband of 45 years; her sisters, Mary, Stella and Lois; her five children, Patty (Randy) Galloway, Georgia (Marc) Payne, Alisha Miller, Christy Eastman, and Wayne B. Eastman Jr. all of Ogden, Utah; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Jordan Mangel.

The family would like to thank Lena's hospice nurses, Annette Wood and Kathy Edwards; and neighbors Sarah and Nick Bullock for their loving care these last months.
