Leno P. Bertagnolli
OGDEN a" Leno Pete Bertagnolli, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born December 7, 1919 in Ogden, a son of Adolpha Frank and Mary Delemar Bertagnolli.
He was married to Beth M. Knight, and later divorced. Leno married his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Donna O. Illum, on December 16, 1949 in Ogden.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Middle Eastern Region, receiving the Conduct Medal and Victory Medal with the Presidential Unit Citation.
Leno retired from Hill Air Force Base following many years of service as an aircraft mechanic.
Surviving are his wife Donna of Ogden; two sons and five daughters, Stanley (Berniece) Bertagnolli, Wendell, ID; Allen (Leah) Bertagnolli, Plain City; Shirley Fackrell, Roy; Marilyn (Jim) Fries, Medera, CA; Christine Gough, South Ogden; Debra (Keith) Davis, Idaho Falls, ID; Janet Bertagnolli, Roy; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Brother Rudolph Bertagnolli, San Pedro, CA.
Preceding Leno in death were his parents, brothers Carl and Jim, sister Linda Schlesinger, and grandson Scott Hurst.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friends are also welcome to call on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff at McKay-Dee Hospital for the loving care they provided to Leno.
