Leo Branz, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2014.  He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 8, 1927 to Calisto and Colomba Bertolusso Branz.  When he was little, the family moved to Ogden, Utah where Leo attended Ogden City Schools including Ogden High School.  Leo continued to reside in Ogden for the rest of his life.

He served in the Army during World War II from July of 1945 to December 1946.

Leo married Mary E. Dickamore on July 2, 1965 in Weber County.  Mary passed away on October 25, 1993.

He worked for Farr’s Orchard and drove for the Ogden Yellow Cab Company in the 1960s.  He worked and retired for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a car man.

Dad loved camping, fishing, and tinkering on his farm.  He loved road trips and hanging out with his family.  He loved going to Farr’s Ice Cream.

Leo is survived by his sons, Leo C. Branz, Ogden; Michael C. Minchey, Las Vegas, NV; and Patrick (Lorraine) G. Minchey, Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Lisa A. (Kevin) Kimber, Ogden; Nancy S. (Bob) Magee, South Ogden; Kay (Thell) Young, Brigham City; Sherrie L. (Norman) Tuttle, Tremonton; Cindy L. (Kevin) Watkins, Ogden; and Marlene (Robert) Stone, Ogden; 40 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E.; grandson, Joseph Michael Minchey; parents, brothers, Aldo and Albert Branz; and sister, Stella Moyes.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family wishes to thank Comfort Keepers, Washington Terrace Rehab, and Hospice Caregivers for helping to take care of Dad.
