Leona O’Shields

Leona O’Shields, 67, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018. She was born on July 28, 1951 the daughter of Richard David and Leona Campbell Simmons, in Ogden, Utah where she was raised and educated. She earned her BS in Nursing at Weber State and worked as an RN at Ogden Regional Medical Center. Leona later worked and retired as a Residential Assistant at Job Corps of Clearfield.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Leona loved bowling and enjoyed cooking and baking. Most of all she loved spending time with her two granddaughters. She also loved her cats.
Leona is survived by her son, Kory O’Shields of North Ogden; daughter, Kristy Peterson of Ogden; her two adored granddaughters, Kayla Peterson of Ogden and Kalyssa O’Shields of North Ogden; brothers, Val Simmons, John Simmons, Ken Knight, and Allen Knight; and sisters, Jean Colvin and Judy Marvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Glen Simmons.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
