Leona D. Head Edwards Trussel

Leona D. Head Edwards Trussel, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2013. She was born on May 14, 1931 to Joseph Enoch and Racheal Davis Head in Ogden.

She married Walter M. Edwards. They were later divorced. She then married Grant Trussel in July of 1979 who later passed away on January 6, 1998.

Leona was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving in the Primary and with the Relief Society sisters in her ward and was a faithful visiting teacher.

She worked at the Ogden Head Start program and then went to work as a volunteer at McKay Dee Hospital Snack Bar. She made many new friends while enjoying the Washington Terrace Senior Center.

She was very talented when it came to knitting and crocheting. She loved to paint ceramics and make dolls. She enjoyed bowling, watching the Jazz games at Jeff''s house. She was a great cook and baker and seamstress. She enjoyed crafts, gardening and canning. She loved to socialize. Everyone she met was a new friend.

Leona is survived by her son, Jeffrey L. Edwards; stepson, Kevin Trussel; daughters, JoAnn Jensen and Debra Edwards John; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and her dog friend, Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven sisters, and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Washington Terrace Senior Center, 4601 South 300 West, Ogden, Utah 84405.
