LeRay Miller Manning 3/4/1924 a" 10/6/2012
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 88. He was the oldest child born to Delbert Manning and Edwina Miller. He grew up in Farmington, Utah during the Great Depression. He learned his dedication to work beginning with a paper route at the age of 12. He rode his horse and bike over half of Farmington delivering papers. He graduated from Davis High School in 1942 and was drafted into World War II. He served honorably in the Merchant Marines during the war. He was then redrafted into the Army for two more years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout his life.
It was after the war when Ray met Jean Springer. He was driving a bus in Bountiful when she got on. They were married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple June 23, 1947, and they have been on a ride ever since. He loved Jean unconditionally till the day he died. Ray was a devoted husband and a wonderful, great father. He will be deeply missed.
