Roy Noker, 87, beloved husband and father, passed peacefully at home in the early morning hours of July 18, 2023. He was born and raised in

Ogden, where he was in the first graduating class of Ben Lomond High School.

He then joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. He worked various jobs including at the Noker Coal Mine near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. His lifelong career was at Hill Air Force Base where he retired as a Flight Test Supervisor. During his time at Hill, he met the love of his life while working on the tail of an F-101. Roy married ViAnn Stolworthy on August 18, 1967, in Orem Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 13, 1969.

Roy knew that he married out of his league and strived daily to provide for his wife and family, never turning down the opportunity to work overtime at the base. His family’s needs came first, and he gave them everything. Roy and ViAnn celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in

Hawaii in 2017. Roy’s loving nature was massive, and his sense of humor will never be forgotten. His commitment to his family was a spectacular example to everyone.

One of his greatest passions, especially in retirement, was fishing. He spent time fishing with his sons, his brother Bill, brother-in-law Jim, and anyone else who tagged along. He was an avid fan of BYU football and the Utah Jazz.

Roy and ViAnn lived in Hooper, Utah, where they raised four sons: Shawn (Michelle), Todd (Tricia), Daniel, (Lisa), and Matthew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved brother Bill, and two baby daughters. Roy is survived by his wife, sons, four step-grandchildren, and siblings Alvin (Stella), Lee, and Carole (Jim).

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Tuesday, July 25th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
