LeRoy “Roy” Arthur White passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
Roy was born on August 20, 1933 to Arthur LeRoy and Florence Waters White in Ogden, Utah. He married Carol Stocking on March 21, 1957 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He attended Weber County Schools. He served in the United States Navy where he made friendships that remained throughout his life. Roy was employed and retired from Defense Depot Ogden. He was raised on the family farm and learned independence and the ability to work hard. He continued to farm and ranch while working fulltime and into retirement. He passed his independent spirit and example of hard work to his children and grandchildren
Roy is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings including Bishop and High Council. He loved having his sons, grandsons and a granddaughter serve missions and always encouraged them. He had three grandsons serving missions at the time of his death.
Roy is survived by his wife, Carol; and four children, Brent & Natalie White, Plain City; Doug and Carlene Taylor, West Warren; Nolan and Sharon White, Mendon; Darrell and Lori White, Strassen, Luxembourg. They have 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Roy is also survived by one sister Carol (Charles) Thomas, Ogden.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Warren Ward Chapel, 856 North 5900 West. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, West Warren/Warren Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
