Lesa Sharp

March 8, 1969 ~ January 3, 2015

Our loving mother, daughter, sister and fun loving aunt, Lesa Sharp, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 3, 2015.

She was born March 8, 1969, to Robert L. Sharp and Laurel Henderson. She was raised in Plain City, Utah.

Lesa graduated from Weber State University in Criminology. She was one class shy of earning another B.S. in Nursing. She was very knowledgeable about health care and loved helping people. She was a CNA who always went the extra mile in providing care and compassion to her patients and their families.

She married Shane Pederson. They were later divorced.

The greatest joy of her life was her daughter, Mandee. She was her world.

Lesa worked for the Red Cross, certifying people in CPR. She also served as a disaster coordinator for Weber County, helping families who had to evacuate their homes. She was a team leader with Utah for Hurricane Andrew. She was organized, efficient, well trained and compassionate.

She was always an adrenaline junkie. She loved to force herself to do challenging things; she went skydiving on her 21st birthday and she also tried her hand at bull riding. She was addicted to all things Western, especially, cowboys in tight Wranglers. She was friends with numerous bull riders from the PBR, and attended as many competitions as she possibly could.

Lesa’s vivacious personality made her a delight to be around and she was blessed with many super friends. She was especially grateful for her high school buddies, Melanie Rowley, Candace Fern, Suzy Ward and numerous others. She made friends with Dean Jensen and Adrian Shackleford when they worked at Toys R Us. They formed a bond that was unbreakable and stayed friends through thick and thin. Lesa loved to laugh and her laughter was contagious.

Lesa’s greatest treasure is her daughter. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her “Goobee”. They were blessed to enjoy many, many adventures together. She also loved her nieces and nephew. She enjoyed spending time with them one on one and also all together. She struggled with numerous health issues over the past several years. We know she is at peace now and with her Dad.

Lesa is survived by her daughter, Amanda, mother Laurel, brother Scott, sister-in-law Lore, nephew Colton, and nieces Lacey and Cassidy. We will miss her very much.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Plain City 2nd Ward, 2952 North 4200 West. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
