Leslie Elaine Stewart Pobanz

June 15, 1946 — February 19, 2025

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Leslie Elaine Stewart Pobanz, returned home to her Heavenly Father on February 19, 2025, at her home, with her devoted husband by her side. Leslie was born on June 15, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eugene Willard and Beverly Elaine McRae Stewart. She was raised in Ogden, where she worked at Rusty’s Drive-In (now Warrens) and met her future husband, Jim.

Leslie was a cheerleader and graduated from Bonneville High School and LDS Seminary in 1965.

She worked as a clerk, supervisor, and manager at the Internal Revenue Service, retiring after 28 years of dedicated service. Leslie had an exceptional talent for decorating and enjoyed traveling, cruising, shopping, dining out with sisters and friends, watching sports and movies, music, painting, and playing cards.

A devoted supporter of her family, extended family, and friends, Leslie was an excellent cook who loved to entertain. She cherished her family deeply, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was their biggest cheerleader. Leslie and Jim were inseparable, sharing every moment of life together.

For many years, Leslie faced health challenges with unwavering strength and without complaint, enduring pain and difficulties with grace. She is now free from suffering and at peace. Jim was her dedicated and loving caregiver, supporting her until the very end.

Leslie is survived by her husband, lifelong companion, and best friend, Jim Pobanz; her three sons, Jeffrey (Lori) Pobanz, Bret (Jolyn) Pobanz, and Brady Pobanz; and her daughter, Lisa Tucker. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Koleby, McKenna, Rylie, Adam, Trey, Madeline, Payton, Halle, Allyson, Beckham, and Alec; and two great-grandchildren, Brooks and Ronan. She is also survived by her brother, Michael (Sonja) Stewart; three sisters, Valerie Perkins, Cynthia (Bradley) Duke, and Pamela (Jack) Toll; three brothers-in-law, Melvin (Judy) Pobanz, Jerry Pobanz, and Harold Pobanz; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Pebley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law, Daniel Perkins; and her nephews, Eugene Smith and Matthew Stewart.
