Leslie Stewart Tulane
Les passed away at his home Wednesday, July 9, 2014.
He was born December 12, 1929 to John G. and Ethel M. Tulane in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He received his education in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from East High School in 1947.
Les attended University of Wisconsin in Madison. He received his degree and then he was drafted into the United States Army in 1950 during the Korean War. He was in charge of a tank platoon and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pleasant Valley 3rd Ward.
Les was a restaurateur, food broker, insurance agent, and financial broker. He traveled extensively with his career until he met the love of his life and married Daphne Lumley in Wrightsville, Georgia, May 3, 1962. They finally settled back into Utah in 1967.
Les is survived by his wife of 52 years, Daphne; sons Scott (Teri), Todd (Marilee), and daughter Kimberley (Kim). He has 6 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 4 great step grandchildren. Les is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and 4 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded. The family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
