Lester was born in Amphion, Texas and passed away after heart surgery in July. Third child to Jesse Cinclair Gunn Jr. and Ellon Susan Wright. He retired from Operating Engineers Local in 1982 and from Oakridge Country Club in 2007.

He moved to the Twin Falls , Idaho area to farm in 2007. He was a proud member of the Masons Scottish Rite and Shriners. He served in Word War II in North Africa and Italy earning the rank of Staff Sergeant, during which he was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Janice Timms August 27, 1944. They were married for 60 years. He married Alberta (Lea) Gaskill on June 1, 2006. Lea’s family loved him as a member of their family as well.

He is survived by his wife Alberta (Lea) Gunn; sister Ruth Fox of Alice , TX ; daughter Ruth Ann Duarte (Phil) of Cloverdale , CA ; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons Edward, Douglas, Earl Ray; sister, Jewell Kelly; and wife Janice Timms Gunn.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main where friends may visit with family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before the service. Interment, Centerville City Cemetery .
