Lester G Russell

Lester G. Russell ROY- Lester G. Russell age 81 , passed away on Friday September 16, 2011 at his home in Roy surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 13, 1930 in Prairie Hill, Texas to Joe and Leora Russell. He was one of twelve children. Lester joined the Navy at the age of 17. He served his country in the Korean War and also in the Air Force where he served in Vietnam he retired in 1968. During this time he was awarded ten service awards. He worked in the Services Division at Hill Air Force Base until 1995. He is survived by his children Cindy (Jess) Guinn, Clinton, UT; Pam (Clifton) Brown, Hooper, UT.; Randy (Stacey) Russell, Layton, UT.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also his sisters, Rebecca Anderson, Virginia Bennett,JoBess Russel,and Frances Cantu. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Francis JoAnn Russell, parents, seven brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3300 W. 5600 S. Family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services. There is a special thanks to all at Roy Senior and Riverdale Senior Centers. Also thank you to Vista Care for all their help and blessings. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch Park, 1718 Combe Rd. The family would like to invite close friends to a light dinner following the graveside services.
