Letha Olive King Read

Letha Olive King Read, 84, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013.

She was born October 30, 1929 to Ralph Senior King and Olive May King. She was born, married and passed away at her West Point home.

On October 10, 1947, Letha married Lorin Eugene Read in West Point. Their marriage as later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death February 23, 2006.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Letha and Lorin served faithfully at the Ogden LDS Temple.

For 40 years she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at the Roy Pharmacy and also at Tanner Clinic.

While raising her children she was a 4-H leader for several years. She was a member of the "Buzzin'' Dozen", a West Point club, where she made many lasting friendships. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Letha enjoyed reading, dancing and crocheting in her spare time. She loved her pets.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Kathy Jo) Read, Delores (Ben) Godwin, Melba Lynn (Jerrold) Judkins, Claudia Stimpson, Lesley Ann (James) Marshall, Sherrie (Lance) Hunting; 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Letha was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three siblings, Lloyd King, Thora Thurgood and Vera Ross.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7th at 11 a.m. at the West Point 17th Ward Chapel, 855 North 4000 West.

The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
