Letitia Child

Our darling Letitia (Lettie) Mary Norris Child, 84, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at her home. She was born in Laketown, UT on May 2, 1931, to Ruth Leomi Jones and Thomas James Norris. She married Elmer Patterson in 1948 (died May of 1956), then John Patterson in 1957 (later divorced). She found her eternal love, Alton Hodson Child and they were married in December of 1968 in Las Vegas, NV.In September of 2015 they wer sealed in the Ogden Temple.

Lettie spent her early years in Randolph, UT but has lived in Layton for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Layton LDS Oakridge Ward. In her younger years she served as a drama director and taught primary and MIA. She loved her family, cooking, sewing, reading, Facebook, and keeping all her family and friends connected.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Alton H. Child of Layton; sons Duane E. Patterson and Johnny T. Patterson, both of North Ogden; daughter Linda M. Ciampini, Ogden; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Thomas, Ben, Carson, William and a baby brother who died at birth; three sisters: Bardina, Leomi and Thora Lapreal; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. where friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
