LeuJene Birt West
SOUTH WEBER –LeuJene Birt West, 83, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Ogden Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 12, 1925 in South Weber, daughter of Clarence H. Birt and Martha A. Mitchell Birt.
LeuJene married Hammond Dixon Reneau in 1943 and they were later divorced. She later married Thomas Earl West in Ogden. Earl preceded her in death in 1982.
She worked as a checker for Wangsgards Grocery for many years.
She was raised and educated in South Weber where she lived most of her life. She loved farming, canning, sewing, and had great love for animals. LeuJene had a kindness that was appreciated by all who knew her. She cared for both of her parents until their deaths. She loved to tend her one great-granddaughter.
Surviving are one daughter, Corrinne Reneau, South Weber; granddaughter, Melissa Behr, great-granddaughter, Ivy Jene Behr, and Larry Mitchell, who was a special person in her life and as much of a son to her as anyone could be.
Also surviving are her sisters, Larna Evans and LaVon Harvatin.
LeuJene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Clarence Leon Birt.

Memorial services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Interment, Uintah City Cemetery.
