SYRACUSE a€" Lewis James Etherington, 62, is resting peacefully and is back with his Father in Heaven after a long hard 7 month battle from a brain aneurysm.

Lewis was born August 27, 1945 in Brigham City, Utah to James W. and Girtrude M. Etherington. Lewis graduated from Davis High School and attended Weber State College for 3 years.

He served in the frontlines of the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He retired from HAFB where he was an electronic systems repairman

On September 30, 1968, Lewis married the love of his life, Colleen Meacham in Farmington, Utah.

Lewis was very successful at everything he did; his gardening skills were amazing and the way he took care of everything he showed great pride and it was always immaculate. Lewis loved to camp and fish but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, and was always willing to help anyone that needed it.

Lewis was an incredible loving husband, father and grandpa.

He is survived by his wife Colleen, of Syracuse; 2 daughters, Misti Brockman and Natalie Etherington; and one son, Jared Etherington; mother, Girtrude Etherington; 4 sisters, Julia King, Sharon Jenkins, Wendy Bybee and Tracy Nelsen; 1 brother Lane Etherington (Lida).

Lewis has 6 beautiful grandchildren, Kammi Brockman, Kelsey Brockman, Jacob Sill, Madison Boyle, Justice Etherington, and Deztinee Etherington.

He was preceded in death by his father James W. Etherington.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., with Bishop L. Scott Nussbaum officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, where military honors will be accorded.
