Lewis Frongner

MORGAN – It is with sadness and also joy that we announce the death of our dad, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Lewis Frongner.  He passed away at the age of 94 on February 23, 2015 at his home in Stoddard with his family by his side.  He is now with his beloved wife of 70 years, whom he had missed terribly.

Lewis was born in Stoddard Morgan, Utah, the fifth of eight children to James Henry and Anna Elizabeth Frongner.  He lived in Stoddard all his life.

Lewis married Alberta Thompson on March 20, 1944 in Rigby, Idaho.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 14, 1968.  He was an Elder and home teacher in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Three months after his marriage, he enlisted and served in the Army during WWII.  He fought in the Philippines and the South Pacific Theaters.  One of the high points in his life was going to Washington D.C. last September with the Utah Honor Flight to see the WWII Memorial. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 6154 in Morgan.

Although he worked and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad, his passion was farming what he called his 40 acre hobby farm.

Lewis is survived by his son, Randy (Janice), Mtn View, WY; daughters, Lou Jean (Jay) Thompson, North Ogden; Debbra Toone, Morgan; and Judy Woolsey (Marty), Morgan; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, son-in-law, Brad Toone; parents, brothers, Loye and Ivan; and sisters, Thelma, Darlene, Vera, Verda, and Barbara.

The family wishes to thank CNS Hospice and the dedicated Home and Relief Society Teachers.  We all are so grateful for Debbie, who lived with and cared for Dad the last two years.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 12 p.m. at the Stoddard Ward/ Milton Church House, 1255 North Morgan Valley Dr.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, North Morgan Cemetery.
