Lewis Housley

October 11, 1925 ~ January 22, 2015

Lewis Housley, 89, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015.  He was born on October 11, 1925 in Garland, Utah to Samuel George and Jennie Richman Housley.  He attended Bear River High School.  He served in the US Naval Service during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific on a minesweeper from 1943 to 1946.

Lewis married Marianne Johnson on August 26, 1951 in Elko, Nevada.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He worked at Hill Air Force Base as a production manager until his retirement. Lewis was a member of the “The Railroaders” Golf Association.

Lewis loved his grandchildren.  He enjoyed gardening and golf and even had three hole-in-ones.  Lew was the go to guy if you needed anything fixed.  If anyone ever needed him he was always there to help.

Dad endured to the end with no complaints and always asked “What do I do now”.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Marianne, Ogden; son, Randy David (Darcelle Baggs) Housley, Ogden; daughter, Christie Lou Housley, SLC; three grandchildren, Josh, Eric, (Jenny) and Brian; and two great-grandchildren, Maddi and Easton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Cyril, Don, and Ray; and sisters, LaVon and Ruby.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12 p.m. at the Garland Cemetery.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
