Lewis M. Mc Nalley
Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all, Lewis Maxwell McNalley, 93, passed away Sunday November 9, 2008 in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born February 7, 1915 in Greeley, Colorado the son of Luther Francis and Maude Frances Maxwell McNalley. Married Deon Caine October 4, 1937 in Superior, Wyoming.
Lewis grew up in and around Ft. Collins, CO, later Farson, WY. At the time of his marriage he worked for Utah Construction Co., and lived in several states for short stays with his work. He had farmer blood and bought a farm in Farson, WY where he built his own hay stacker and enjoyed farming. Because of school situations for his children, they moved to Superior, WY where he worked for Union Pacific Coal Co. on the outside of a coal mine repairing and maintaining equipment. When the coal mine was closed they moved to Rock Springs, WY and he worked for a trucking company. Upon his retirement in 1983, they moved to their current home in Woods Cross, Utah.
He was an active member of the Woods Cross 2nd Ward. He was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. He was Bishop of a small ward in Superior, WY. He had a strong unwavering testimony of the gospel. He was an avid reader and self educated in many areas. He was a "Jack of all trades" and helped all who needed help with any kind of repairs. He built many useful tools and the wood stoves in his current home.
He was a man of great wisdom and all of his family would go to him for good sound advice. He loved his family first and foremost and attended all activities involving his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lewis is survived by his son Ronald Lewis "Ron" (Connie) McNalley, Rock Springs, WY; daughter Nancy Ruth M. (Tony) Hopson, Bountiful, UT; four grandchildren Steve (Francesca) Hopson, Jana Adams, Michael (Julie) McNalley and Julie Seymour; 12 great grandchildren Halli, Hilari, Harrison, Branson, Olivia, Faith, Jordyn, Madison, Ryan, Dylan, Mallory, and Matthew; and a sister, Geraldine Kallas, Rocks Springs, WY. Preceded in death by his wife Deon, July 9, 2008, parents, five sisters and four brothers. In lieu of flowers family requests donations to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Perpetual Education Fund or charity of choice.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call Wed. from 6-8 pm and Thurs. 9:45- 10:45 am prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
