Lewis Blaine Patterson, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008.
He was born May 7, 1927 in Clinton, Utah to Frank David and Ticia Pearl Beus Patterson.
Lewis proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II.
On July 20, 1950, Lewis married Ramona Rose Grunewald in the Cardston Temple, Alberta, Canada.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an honorable mission to the Pacific Northwest, taught Gospel Doctrine for many years, served as a member of the Seventies, High Priest, High Priest Group Leader, High Council member and as Bishop in Clinton, Utah.
Lewis served as the Northern Utah District Leader for the Republican Party and Chapter President of the Utah Farm Bureau Association. He was a member of the Brigham Young University President''s Circle, American Farm Bureau and American Cattleman''s Association.
He was an avid fisherman and antique collector and enjoyed traveling, hiking, photography, painting and gospel and ancient scripture study. He was a strong supporter of youth activities and missionary efforts.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Ramona, Salt Lake City; three sons, Kerry Blaine (Linda) Patterson, Alexandria, VA; Lewis Kraig (Jan) Patterson, Salt Lake City; Kevin B. (Steven) Patterson, Oceanside, CA; two daughters, Kristine Anderson, Oceanside, CA; Kathi Lynn (Chris) Jacques, Roy; 14 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, David F. (Marie) Patterson, Jack D. (Joan) Patterson, and a sister, Leora (Willard) Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons.
The family would like to thank Margy Campbell and her staff at Age Connections and Joyce Birch the "pill lady", and the rest of the staff of Silverado Senior Living Center and their hospice. Their care brought him comfort and peace and for that we are eternally grateful. If there is anyone omitted, please know that it is not intentional. All acts of kindness, great or small, are immensely appreciated and made a difference in the well being of our family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogen Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends and family may call Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
