Lia Susanne Cole was gifted to the world April 14th 2004 in Ogden, UT to Curtis Robert Cole and Cosette Marie Cole. Before she was born, she had already started changing the lives of so many. The time flew by so quickly in her 18 years of life. It was magical to experience everything through her eyes as a child.
The sneakiest of humans, we’d find her in a closet before bedtime by the sound of a crinkling juice-box straw wrapper. We’d later find out she’d become a master of sneaking out of the house as a young teen.
She was the best of big sisters. It started when she tried to feed her little brother Charlie French fries through mom’s belly button. He will miss her greatly. I’m sure he will hold many memories of their adventures and secrets for life, and miss getting her ice water at all times throughout the day.
She found a love of soccer and spent many of her days on the field surrounded by teammates, amazing coaches, and team parents.
Art was Lia’s therapy. She was incredibly talented in every form of art. Her favorite seemed to be painting and random crafts.
She was a light to so many. There has been an outpouring of love and gratitude from those who knew her. “I always felt comfort with her and she always knew what to say”.
Lia was unconventional. She would always see the path everyone else was taking and chose to forge her own - a renegade for self-expression and for those she thought didn’t have a voice. Lia was so powerful yet gentle; so intelligent. She could also be the biggest tornado and stubborn as hell.
We loved her so incredibly much and deeply. She was loved by so many. Sadly she did not know she was worthy to receive it. She struggled mentally and only let very few know. She could not see her light as so many did.
Sadly, Lia chose to end her life September 18th, 2022. Oh how we’ll miss her. The burden and darkness Lia must have felt…
We are flooded with the many beautiful memories of her life, allowing the hard times to wash away. What a gift.
