LiAnn Sorensen Jackson

November 23, 1973 ~ December 10, 2017

LiAnn Sorensen Jackson, 44, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 10, 2017 at her home in Ogden, Utah. LiAnn was born on November 23, 1973 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the first daughter and second child of Evan and Vivian Sorensen of Dietrich, Idaho. She was raised on the family farm; she attended and graduated from Dietrich High School. LiAnn was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was a hard worker and committed mother. Throughout her life, she worked at various jobs where she was highly esteemed by her colleagues and was a dependable employee (except for moving pipe on the farm). LiAnn was currently employed with Great Basin Industrial in Kaysville, Utah as the Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist. This latest job was the highlight of her career; she loved her boss and co-workers.

LiAnn was married to Marc Jackson on October 27, 2001. To this union came three children; Weston (14), and the twins, Colton (12), and Dalton (12). She has two granddaughters who she absolutely adored. She loved her family and her in-laws.

Her greatest achievement and love were her three sons. LiAnn relished spending time with her family and friends, especially watching football and TV with her family. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. LiAnn enjoyed fishing with her family. She was an incredible cook and kept her family well-fed. Cheesy Chicken Pasta and Thanksgiving stuffing were her family’s favorites. She enjoyed visiting the ocean and collecting lighthouses to decorate her home.

LiAnn is survived by her husband, Marc; her three sons: Weston, Colton, and Dalton; four step-sons: Chris (Kalee), Alex, Josh, and Matthew;  granddaughters, Jada and Emma; her immediate family: parents, Evan and Vivian; and five siblings: Aaron Sorensen (Shawna), Idaho Falls, Idaho; Justin Sorensen (Jill), McMinnville, Oregon; Tyson Sorensen (Shelby), Nibley, Utah; Brandon Sorensen (Tancy), Dietrich, Idaho; and Ayleen Durfee (Walter), Almo, Idaho;  her mother-in-law,Miste Newport; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Lee Jackson; maternal and paternal grandparents; and four cousins.

LiAnn touched the lives of many family, friends, and co-workers and will leave a big void in their lives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Dietrich LDS Ward, 160 South 660 East, Dietrich, Idaho. Family will meet with friends on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Church. Interment, Shoshone City Cemetery.
