Lila Vallance Steward, 94, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born June 1, 1919 in Polo, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas J. and Marietta Brookman Vallance. Married Thomas Lewis Steward, September 19, 1939 in Castle Rock, CO.

Lila attended the University of Colorado. She and her husband, Tom lived in Pittsburgh, PA; LaGrange, IL; Bountiful, UT; Denver, CO; St. George, UT; Washington DC; Ogden, UT; and her last years at Heritage Place in Bountiful, UT.

Lila was an avid golfer. She was President of the Ladies Association at Oakridge County Club, 1959 Oakridge Country Club Team Champ, Huntsman Chemicals World Olympics Game Champ in St. George, 1988 and 1989. Lila taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

She is survived by daughters Margo V. Andrews (Frank) and Lila Lee Blaess. Grandchildren include Lila Belle Johnson (Wesley), Margo Paige Andrews, Jodi Thomas Atwood (Mike), Dawn Turner (Bob), Michael Blaess and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas L. Steward and son-in-law Edward Blaess.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E.
