Lily Y. Aoki
LAYTON - Lily Y. Aoki, 91, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011.
She was born January 15, 1920 in Merino, Colorado the daughter of Karoku and Yukano Sasaki Shino.
Lily married David K. Aoki on July 19, 1945 in Denver, Colorado.
She was a member of the Ogden Buddhist Church and Fujinkai. She retired from DDO where she worked in Accounting & Payroll.
Lily was a Pink Lady at St. Benedict’s hospital for eight years. She loved crocheting, sewing, and playing Hana (Japanese card game).
Surviving are her husband David K. Aoki, Layton; son Alan (Janice) Aoki, Layton; grandson Glen Aoki, Layton; granddaughter Jennifer Aoki, Layton; brother Bill Shino, Merino, CO; and sisters, Sumi Enomoto, Aurora, CO; and Halu (Kiyo) Aoki, Honeyville, Utah.
Preceded in death by her parents, brother Jun and sister Kim.
Graveside services will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
